Superdrug’s own brand range of “Slenderplan” products are intended to provide dieters with a cheap way to lose weight. Their Slenderplan Appetite Suppressant is designed for dieters who need extra help to keep their hunger cravings under control.
Superdrug doesn’t possess manufacturing facilities, so the company’s own name products are bought-in from elsewhere.
Superdrug Appetite Suppressant is actually a private label product manufactured by Peters Krizman AG and it’s anything but unique.
Peters Krizman use the same formulation of ingredients in an appetite suppressant called Obesimed that’s widely distributed throughout Europe and is apparently a hot seller in Belgium, Holland, Italy, and Portugal.
Promised Benefits Of Superdrug Appetite Suppressant
- Promotes a feeling of fullness in the stomach
- Helps you to lose weight
- Prevents weight gain
Two pills are needed three times a day and each dose needs to be taken 60 minutes before meals and washed down with two big glasses of water.
The pills have to be swallowed whole and should never be chewed or allowed to disintegrate in the mouth. Good results will require the pills be used alongside a calorie-restricted diet. After 30 days of use a 4-day break is required. Supplementation can then be resumed on day five.
No inclusion rates are provided, but the capsules contain:
- OMTEC 19
- Titanium Dioxide (E171)
- Amylum Solani
- Oleum Helianthus
- Hypromelllose (E464)
Titanium is a colourant that can be found in food, confectionery, cosmetics, and many other products. Most of the other ingredients are binders and fillers. The promise of appetite suppression is supposed to be made good by the inclusion of OMTEC 19.
OMTEC 19 is a proprietary blend. We were unable to find out who produces the compound or exactly what it contains, but Peters Krizman state the ingredient “absorbs large amounts of water and forms a natural substance that fills the stomach”, suppresses the appetite, and prevents excessive eating.
This sounds a lot like the plant fibre glucomannan and, if OMTEC 19 is nothing more than a standardised form of glucomannan it could be a good ingredient to have because its use as an appetite suppressant has been endorsed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
However there is no way to be certain OMTEC 19 is a form of glucomannan or, if it is, that the glucomannan content has not been diluted with other compounds. It’s also worth noting the EFSA state a dose of 3g per day is required.
The OMTEC 19 inclusion rate is not provided so, should it actually be glucomannan, there is no way to be certain Superdrug Appetite Suppressant will provide enough.
Superdrug Appetite Suppressant Reviews
Some customers are full of praise for the product, others say it does not work.
A few sample customer reviews read:
“What a super product! When I saw the price I thought these pills couldn’t possibly work, but they do. I’m finding it much easier to stick to my diet because hunger is no longer a problem. Weight loss so far is 11lbs. When I lose a few more I’ll be where I need to be, so I am happy to recommend this product to other buyers.”
“I had high hopes when I brought these home from the shop. That was 10 days ago and they done nothing for me at all.”
“Seem to help me feel less hungry and I am not eating so much. I’ve already lost a few pounds and have to say I am impressed.”
“These pills smell so bad they should take your appetite away, but the sad truth is the little stinkers don’t work at all.”

The Final Evaluation
We cannot add Superdrug Appetite Suppressant to our list of recommended products because there is no way to be certain about the main ingredient.
It could be anything and nobody should be expected to use a product that contains unknown ingredients. We still think there is probably some glucomannan in there somewhere, but it’s not usually associated with a bad smell.
The product’s ability to subdue the appetite also appears to be a bit hit and miss and the lack of information about OMTEC 19 makes it impossible to ascertain why this may be.
If you need a good diet pill that can take away hunger and help you to lose weight more easily, we suggest you take a look at some of the products that did cut the mustard in our evaluation process.
